I think this will be a fine refrigerator for my space constraints. BUT the packaging is so over the top!! If I had the ability to have it installed,( had to move a cabinet), it would have been worth the expense, but packaging still hits a landfill! The refer has so much rigid styrofoam packing, it's unconscionable. Why not corrugated cardboard that is recyclable? The doors were plastic wrapped before the gaskets were applied, so it leaves plastic wrap all around the edges, that I will be removing for years! Every possible part is secured with multiple blue plastic and strapping tape, which in some areas that are almost inaccessible to remove fully. The final straw of enviromental assault is that the shelves for the doors are in a plastic wrapped cardboard tray (the only cardboard besides the box it came in) AND each shelf is in a plastic bag, inside the bag is the shrink wrapped shelf and with foam plastic sheeting in between each shelf. Oh My Gosh! Shame on you! Recycled paper would have done the same job!

Bad quality products

I had my Fridge delivered and installed on Oct 11th. It lasted until mid November. The fridge portion froze all my fridge contents and had ice from the top inside vents all the way down the center of the back to the bottom of the fridge. The worst part was I host thanksgiving every year so the day after thanksgiving on black Friday I had to call the manufacturer customer service. They said they would call me back but I haven't heard back. I told them I don't have a fridge and all the food from Thanksgiving is currently on my counter. I can understand not having someone on call just to run out to make last second service calls but at least give me a call right away to help set up an appointment time for service. The Product should last more than a little over a month considering the fridge cost over $2000.

The vegetable and meat drawers are very cheaply made of very thin plastic that does not feel very durable. They feel flimsy and unable to withstand normal use. Same goes for the adjustable pockets on the doors. Not the kind of quality I'm used to in a GE product.

Purchased in December 2024 and had to wait until February 2025 for GE manufacturer to deliver. I didn't order a custom design. The Plummer installed the waterline using inline valves, in lieu of a saddle tap, to ensure full water flow. The water flow from fridge is slow, and the angle of the spigot doesn't have angle allowances to set the vessel on the ledge beneath the spigot.

I've only had this fridge in place for 1 day, but I'm really happy with my choice to go back to a unit with the fridge on top, freezer on the bottom. When we bought this house 7 yrs ago it came with a side by side fridge, which I never liked. Although I lost freezer space going to this model, its not an issue as there's only 2 of us. I really like the inside door compartments, and the fact that due to the French door style fridge, vs the side by side, the shelves are not deep so food doesn't get hidden in the back.... I also have much more space in the fridge area than I did with the side by side. Another decision I'm happy with.

Worst Purchase Experience

Worst experience I have ever had. Waited 3 months for it to be delivered. The final delivery day was the day before Thanksgiving. Installers show and say they can™€™t install the water line because of the copper tubing. The day I put items in it the shelf above the fruit and vegetables breaks. I call and they are supposed to send me replacements parts. Replacement parts don™€™t get here before I call on day 8th day of owning it because the power has gone out on the unit. I™€™m told by Home Depot, I will need to call GE again in the morning after waiting on the phone for 38 minutes. Meanwhile, I have to figure out how to keep my daughter™€™s medicine cold.

I like the French doors on the top but the bottom freezer is surprisingly smaller than I expected and it makes quite a bit of noise with the top section and bottom section that rub along each other every time you open it. I would have thought it would be quieter but the metal on metal slides don't actually allow that I suppose. Just seems odd to me.

I had a shelf support pin broke that can't be replaced. I have been waiting since February to get a replacement fridge! They keep trying to get me to take a larger fridge but I've told them many times I can't go bigger. I have tried contacting main GE offices but had no luck. I can't get a understandable explanation as to why it's taking so long. In the meantime I braced my shelf with a block of wood.

Loved the new fridge we purchased with the French doors & bottom freezer pull out drawer. The only thing I didn't like is we were limited to the size we could purchase due to our smaller kitchen & the new layout. Ice tray pulls out when freezer is opened, cheese/meat drawer pulls out uneven. Water dispenser can only be accessed by opening and leaving opened the refrigerator door. Out goes all the cold while you try and fill a water bottle:( only reason I purchased is because it is literally the only refrigerator in black in the country that would fit in my space.

The refrigerator makes different noises at different times, nothing very loud. Also, the plastic shelves in the doors should have some type of rubber or plastic mats on the bottom to help quiet vibrations from glass bottles that are often stored there.

Love it! We didn™€™t want anything fancy just a basic refrigerator that would hold lots of fresh fruits and veggies! It is just that- lots of room for drinks and condiments in the door. The one shelf that can slide back to hold a bottle of wine without having to rearrange all the shelves is awesome! Love all the bins for veggies/fruits/cheese and cold cuts!

This is the loudest fridge ever. I sent a video to the store I purchased it from and they said the noises weren™€™t normal and sent out a repair man. It goes through cycles where it rattles and sounds like the motor will die any day (I™€™ve had it 9 days). When the repair man came out, it didn™€™t go through the loud cycle, just a less annoying high pitch whine and the repair man said it™€™s just the normal loudness. The crisper is absolutely tiny and can™€™t even fit in a standard package of celery.

We replaced a standard upright refrigerator. We really like the freezer on the bottom and better visualization of the items on the shelfs. The freezer is smaller than the old one, but we kept it us an extra so have plenty of space.
